Whether you want to study individually or in a group, personally or in a company, for your pleasure or professional growth, for all age groups and levels of preparation, in the mornings and evenings, we will create training just for you!

Infrastructure

The training offered by the Lifelong Learning Center takes place in the premises of Ventspils University of Applied Sciences:

 

  • 2 amphitheater-type auditoriums with 187 and 130 seats
  • 6 computer rooms: 4 rooms with 30 - 36 computers and 2 rooms with 12 - 16 computers
  • auditoriums in the A, B and D buildings of the university with 15, 30, 50 and 70 seats
  • multimedia laboratory - designed to provide the population with the highest quality and most interesting courses in cultural education - music history, art history, film history and other directions, using modern technologies
  • computer laboratory - 15 equipped workplaces for learning computer skills for Ventspils city and Kurzeme residents in language learning, business and other fields
  • engineering training laboratory - engineering skills training laboratory equipment and software: MASTERCAM academic licenses (7 pcs.), 7 computer workstations, CNC (digital control) desk with necessary additional equipment, 3D handheld laser scanner (the only one in Latvia and the Baltics)

 

The infrastructure of Ventspils University of Applied Sciences Lifelong Learning Center has been created thanks to the project “Lifelong learning cross-border capacity building” / 5L. LLII-102 is partially financed from the Latvian-Lithuanian cross-border cooperation program of the European Union Structural Funds Objective 3 “European Territorial Cooperation”.

Goal and Objectives

The aim of the center is to offer every inhabitant of Kurzeme region an opportunity for lifelong learning, raising or changing their qualifications in accordance with the requirements of the labor market and their interests and needs, thus increasing the intellectual potential of Ventspils, Kurzeme and Latvia, providing the economy with knowledgeable and creative specialists.

Participate in the development of national, regional and city further education and lifelong learning policies.

To participate in the working groups of various organizations related to education, representing the opinion of Ventspils University of Applied Sciences in their competencies.

To represent the interests of Ventspils University of Applied Sciences in the field of lifelong learning in other institutions.

To cooperate with Latvian and foreign lifelong learning organizations.

Participate in the implementation of lifelong learning projects.

To organize Ventspils city, Kurzeme region, Latvian and international conferences, seminars and other educational events related to lifelong learning.

To provide high-quality continuing education and professional development training programs for every inhabitant, regardless of profession, education, age and social affiliation, promoting the growth of specialists and personal development.

To organize training courses for students of educational institutions to supplement their knowledge in order to prepare for studies at Ventspils University of Applied Sciences or other Latvian universities.

Listeners

If you have a secondary or higher education and a desire to acquire study courses that interest you or are necessary for professional activity, Ventspils University of Applied Sciences offers the opportunity to attend classes in both undergraduate and master's study programs, take examinations, obtain an assessment and receive a certificate issued by Ventspils University of Applied Sciences for the acquisition of credit points.


How can I become a Listener? 

 

  • Choose the study course you are interested in from the current catalog of study courses. The catalog of study courses is available here: https://venta.lv/muzizglitiba/klausitaji/
  • Until the beginning of the new study semester (beginning of September or February) go to Ventspils University of Applied Sciences Lifelong Learning Center (101 Inženieru Street, Room D105).
  • Present an identity document, as well as documents certifying secondary or higher education and submit copies thereof.
  • Fill in the registration form.
  • Sign the listener's contract.
  • Make the registration payment in accordance with the registration fee approved by the Senate of Ventspils University of Applied Sciences.
  • Within 3 (three) working days after signing the contract, payment for the acquisition of courses shall be made by transfer.
  • Become one of us for a whole semester!

 

Fee for study course listeners for one credit point:

 

  • in basic study programs - 50.00 EUR;
  • in master's study programs - 70.00 EUR.
