FEM is engaged in various forms of academic cooperation at national and international levels:
- FEM participates in the ERASMUS+ program, offering mobility opportunities for both students and academic staff.
- VUAS is a member of the European University Alliance COLOURS, contributing to joint activities and academic initiatives. FEM has a significant role in coordination COLOURS activities in VUAS.
- FEM is involved in international and national research and partnership projects.
- In cooperation with Rezekne Academy of Technologies and Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, FEM implements the joint doctoral study program “Economics and business” and is represented in Promotion Council.
- VUAS is a member of several professional and academic associations, supporting institutional collaboration.
- Students have the opportunity to complete internships at the national level through cooperation with several enterprises and institutions.

FoTS has established partnerships with several international cooperation networks and actively participates in the
ERASMUS+ program, ensuring mobility opportunities for both students and faculty. The master’s program “Translation of Language for Special Purposes Texts” has been repeatedly accredited for participation in the European Commission’s
“European Master’s in Translation” (EMT) network, an internationally recognized quality label. This approach promotes knowledge exchange and innovation potential.
From 2024, VUAS is involved in the ERASMUS+ international project consortium
COLOURS
“COLLaborative innOvative sUstainable Regional univerSities’’, which aims include the promotion of research and entrepreneurial opportunities and innovation ecosystems development. FoTS participates in several activities of this consortium.
The Faculty maintains close links with Ventspils and Kurzeme region’s entrepreneurs, promoting the development of applied research and providing internships for students. The employers include state and municipal institutions, private companies, Latvian and international joint ventures, and EU translation services. In recent years, collaboration has been particularly successful with the Latvian State Language Center and various translation agencies, as well as translation service providers such as “SDI Media Latvia,” “Skrivanek Baltic,” “Linearis,” “Tilde,” and others.
