A good student must know how to combine studies with rest and worthwhile leisure activities
The Student Council (SC) is an independent university's structural unit, which is elected by the students. Its goal is to take care of each VUAS student's wellbeing during their studies.
Council members' duty is to defend student rights and interests in the university, by participating in academic decision making, represent university both in Latvia and abroad and make student everyday life more active with fun, entertaining and informative events.

The structure of the Ventspils University of Applied Sciences SC consists of the Chairperson of the Student Council, his or her deputy and four committees: the Culture and Sports Committee, the Public Relations Committee, the Social Affairs Committee, and the Studies and Science Committee.
Elections at the university are held every year; student representatives are officially elected, but this does not necessarily mean that other activists cannot participate in the council. Every year, including this year, other people help organise events or take on some permanent responsibilities of the SC. According to regulations, the Ventspils University of Applied Sciences Student Council elections should take place by 1st of May, but usually they are held between the end of February and the beginning of March.
