About the Faculty

The Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) implements bachelor's study programme "Computer Science" in English. The study field “Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Control and Computer Science” is accredited for a maximum period of six years.

FIT has extensive and modernly equipped new laboratories, work-oriented study programs ensure the training of qualified specialists.

The high quality of education has been assessed by employers, foreign experts, graduates and students.

In order to make study programs even more competitive, they are constantly being improved. Foreign lecturers from Lithuania, Belarus, Estonia, France, the Netherlands, Germany, the USA, etc. also participate in the implementation of the study programs of the faculty.

Ventspils University of Applied Sciences is actively involved in attracting international students. Bachelor's studies in computer science are offered on the international market.

FIT graduates work in state and municipal institutions and companies, for example, Skype, IBM Latvia, Tilde Company, Lattelecom Technologies Ltd., Tieto Latvia, Ventspils Nafta Terminal Ltd., CTCo, FMS Software Ltd., Ventspils High Technology Park, Ventspils Digital Center, SIA “Accenture Latvia”, AS “Ventbunkers”, AS “Digital Mind”, Baltic Technology Group, TELE2, SIA TestDevLab as well as in self-founded commercial companies.
