"The aim of the project 'Latvian Security and Defense Industry Cooperation Network' (hereinafter - the Cooperation Network) is to ensure funding for increasing the volume of international cooperation, research, and development investments of Latvia's security and defense industries, educational, and research institutions, in accordance with the priorities set at the national, European Union, and NATO levels for internal and external security.

Under the framework of the DAIF Latvia European Union fund project No. 5.1.1.2.i.0/3/24/A/CFLA/008 'Establishment of the Latvian Security and Defense Industry Cooperation Network,' 32 companies and 6 higher education institutions have currently joined.

The activities planned in the project will be implemented according to the defined five directions:

  1. Export, internationalization, and international cooperation;
  2. Promotion of research and development;
  3. Development of human capital and promotion of cooperation;
  4. Ensuring and improving the operation of the Cooperation Network;
  5. Building the international image of the Cooperation Network and its members.

The cooperation project aligns with the core idea of the Smart Specialization Strategy - to concentrate limited state resources to ensure increased innovation capacity in knowledge areas where the economy has the highest growth potential. As a result, the implementation of the project will create prerequisites for the successful work and engagement of the Cooperation Network members in local and external target markets. By promoting partnerships within international innovation and development projects, the export, private research, and development investment volumes of the Cooperation Network members will increase.
