COURSE DESCRIPTION

In this study course, the student acquires in-depth knowledge of statistical data processing - extraction, calculation, grouping, comparison, analysis, visualization and other operations. At the end of the course, the student will be able to process different types of data, perform individual and mutual analysis, present and use the obtained data in a practical way.

1. Introductory lecture
2. Statistical observation. Grouping. Organization of statistics-related work in Latvia and the EU
3. Methods of graphic representation of statistical data
4. Relative values, their types and use in the analysis of economic phenomena
5. Average values: unweighted, weighted. Averages of rows with marginal distribution
6. The concept of variation, absolute, relative values
7. Types of sampling observation, errors. Required sample size
8. Dynamic rows and their types. Average index. Trends
9. Indexes. Individual, overall indexes, aggregates, average indexes
