COURSE DESCRIPTION

During the course the student learns about the concept of database and related theoretical issues and practices creating a database in the digital environment, learns how to create a website without programming and develops a complete, functioning website. At the end of the course, the student is able to be fluent in theoretical issues of databases, to develop different types of databases and websites without programming on online platforms.

CONTENT

1. The importance of data, data management and data management systems
2. Database design — physical and logical database data model. Relational, hierarchical, and network model
3. Modelling a case study, using a database
4. Introduction to Database Management Systems (DBMS). DBMS MS Access
5. MS Access objects. Designing tables, defining links, data input, Structured Query Language for data retrieval, design of the user interface, description of the functionality of the user interface
6. Website design
