2nd Place for VUAS Team at International Electronics Competition EIFTronic 2025
Students from the “Electrical Engineering” study program at VUAS traveled to Vilnius, Lithuania, to participate in the electronics competition EIFTronic. The team earned an honourable 2nd place, outperforming teams from Poland and Lithuania.
The VUAS student team consisted of first-year “Electrical Engineering” students – Tomass Rudītis, Pauls Matīss Rullis, and Tomass Žukovskis. They were accompanied by Faculty of Information Technologies lecturer Matīss Maltisovs. Unlike the teams from Lithuania and Poland, which were composed of second- and third-year students, the VUAS team was represented solely by first-year students. Their achievement in securing 2nd place highlights their high level of preparedness and ability to compete with more experienced students.
The competition began with a theoretical task that included questions on physics, electronics, electrical engineering, analogue and digital devices, and electrical measurements. In this round, VUAS student Tomass Žukovskis took 1st place among all participants.
Each team member then had to complete a practical task. Pauls Matīss Rullis worked on assembling an electrical circuit and measuring its key parameters, winning the 1st place. Tomass Rudītis developed a microcontroller program involving sensors, motors, and displays. Meanwhile, Tomass Žukovskis handled digital device design and a soldering task, also earning the 1st place.
EIFTronic is an annual international competition for electronics students, bringing together participants from various countries.
Ventspils University of Applied Science congratulates and is proud of the students’ achievements!
