Last week, the marketing and public relations specialists conference "Marketing Shake 2020" was held in Riga, where it was an opportunity to be inspired and get informed about the latest trends in marketing, as well as to find out suggestions from the leaders of this field about creating advertising campaigns. The content of the conference placed great emphasis on the development of digital marketing, as technology and the Internet environment continue to develop.
It was also discussed how the influence of the COVID-19 virus changed people's behavior and the rhythm of life in the world, as experts recognize that marketing has changed significantly during this period. Participants discussed how B2B and B2C business models work in such crisis conditions and what has changed in communication.
Representatives of VUAS found out valuable information and new ideas, and they recognize that it will be useful in the future, developing campaigns to attract students from both Latvian and foreign markets. Advertising campaign creator and creative director Ēriks Stendzenieks provided valuable advice on how to create advertising content and what general feeling to provide to clients, or in our case to students, who named three main criterias that can be useful in any communication and advertising: honesty, humanity and humour.
During the breaks, there was an opportunity to talk to other marketing and public relations specialists, learn about their experience and make new contacts.
Participation in the conference was funded by the "Next Generation Micro Cities of Europe" (UIA03-250) project, which aim is introduce innovative solutions for developing workforce skills and strengthening human resources in cities, as well as creating favorable conditions for business development and creating new jobs, which will contribute to the economic and business environment of Ventspils and Valmiera. As part of this project, Ventspils University of Applied Sciences is working on increasing the number of students and modernize the educational environment.
