Representatives from Ventspils University of Applied Sciences participated in the final conference of the project “Next Generation Micro Cities of Europe”
The final conference of the project “Next Generation Micro Cities of Europe” has been held, during which project partners, education experts, and other guests shared their experience, the lessons learned, and conclusions on the innovations in urban development.
The conference consisted of panel discussions where the representatives of the project “Next Generation Micro Cities of Europe” from Ventspils and Valmiera talked about the experience they gained during the project and the innovations implemented in their educational institutions. The participants also discussed generational marketing, innovative educational opportunities, modern-day education, attracting young professionals to cities, and other topics related to innovative growth.
During the project, Ventspils University of Applied Sciences has developed several innovative products that considerably improve the study process: the interactive digital classroom, the video studio, and the mobile application VeApp. These innovative products are already available to use by both the staff and students of the Ventspils University of Applied Sciences.
The conference was attended by the chairman of Ventspils City Council Jānis Vītoliņš, the chairman of Valmiera City Council Jānis Baiks, the project manager Laura Čodere, representatives from the European Commission, education experts, including experts from Ventspils University of Applied Sciences that are involved in the project, employers, representatives from business development organizations, as well as specialists from ministries and government agencies.
Ten cooperation partners from Ventspils and Valmiera are participating in the project. The project officially ends on October 31, 2021, when all partners will submit final reports on the work performed during the three-year project.
