Research presentations of the VeA and ViA doctoral grant recipients will take place on 29 January
On 29 January, research presentations by recipients of the doctoral grants of Ventspils University of Applied Sciences (VeA) and Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA) will take place online. The presentations will address topics important for society and regional development – ranging from the emigration of highly skilled labour to virtual reality solutions and the effectiveness of health policy.
The programme includes four presentations:
- Kristiāna Balode will present research on the impact of intellectual labour migration on regional development.
- Laura Ozoliņa will introduce research on realistic vegetation visualization in virtual reality scenarios.
- Līga Pūce will present research on the use of nudging to increase participation in cancer screening in Latvia, focusing on effectiveness and economic impact assessment.
- Māra Grīnberga-Šilaua will discuss active mobility in tourism destinations.
The presentations are dedicated to evaluating the first six months of progress of the first round of grant recipients within the project “VeA and ViA Doctoral Grants” (No. 1.1.1.8/1/24/I/001). The project aims to strengthen research capacity at the universities and promote knowledge transfer to the Latvian economy.
