The Young Translators’ School 2025 attracted teachers and students from all over Latvia
On February 13, students and language teachers from all over Latvia gathered at Ventspils University of Applied Sciences to participate in the Young Translators’ School.
More than 100 students and 40 teachers participated in the Young Translators School, not only from Ventspils secondary schools, but also from other secondary schools of the Kurzeme region – Liepāja, Tukums, Grobiņa, Vaiņode, Saldus, Kuldīga, and Talsi were represented. Several participants travelled from further Latvian cities – Riga, Iecava, Jēkabpils, Smiltene, and even Daugavpils.
Within the framework of the JTS, students had the opportunity to participate in various classes, learn from students of the Faculty of Translation Studies about the study process and the daily life of a student, as well as get to enjoy a guided tour through the University premises. For the teachers, this was a day of professional development by finding out the tendencies of language teaching by discussing the challenges in their daily work with students.
The Young Translators’ School is an annual tradition implemented by Ventspils University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with the Ventspils Education Board, thanks to the support of the Ventspils Municipality.
