Mar 17, 2021

Ventspils University of Applied Sciences (VUAS) is excited to announce to students and staff planning to go on Erasmus mobility until 2027 – VUAS has received Erasmus programs’ accreditation certificate or Charter. This Charter allows students and staff to apply for and carry out Erasmus projects until 2027.

2021 is the transition year when the Erasmus+ programme moves to a new programming period, the Erasmus programme. The new program will include more opportunities for Erasmus program participants, for example, shorter mobilities for students for those who can not leave the home country for a few months, and many more opportunities. Like the previous program, the new Erasmus program will include study and traineeship mobilities and staff mobilities, but tripling the number of participants, bringing them up to 12 million people.

Erasmus program priorities include that the program is more accessible to a broader range of society and digitalization and development of digital skills, participation in democratic life, culture awareness, media literacy and critical thinking, environmental sustainability, climate goals, and more.

Erasmus+ Programme in VUAS is co-funded by the European Union. More information on the Erasmus+ Programme can be found in the Erasmus+ section of the State Education Development Agency of the Republic of Latvia webpage www.viaa.gov.lv or on the website of the Programme www.erasmusplus.lv.

Dear colleagues and friends, Last Thursday marked a dark moment in the history of Europe and the world as we became witness of a brutal and unprovoked act of war by Russia against a sovereign nation in the centre of Europe - Ukraine. We are deeply saddened by this. We at Ventspils University of Applied Sciences stand with the people of Ukraine at this difficult time and join the international community in condemning on the strongest possible terms the act of illegal aggression. We are prepared to offer every possible support within our means to staff, researchers and students at your institution. We are open look into the possibility to host your staff shorter or longer for periods of time. Once again - we stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and our thoughts are with all those directly or indirectly impacted by this invasion. Yours sincerely, Dr. Karlis Kreslins Rector of the Ventspils University of Applied Sciences Foto: Shutterstock
