Ventspils University of Applied Sciences Receives EMT Quality Mark
The professional master's study program "Translation of Applied Texts" at Ventspils University of Applied Sciences is accredited for participation in the European Commission's cooperation network "European Master's in Translation" (EMT), which confirms compliance with internationally recognized quality standards in the training of translators.
The Faculty of Translation's study program "Translation of Applied Texts" has been accredited in the EMT network for the next five years – from 2024 to 2029. Ventspils University of Applied Sciences has been a member of this network for 13 years, since 2011. This confirms the high quality of studies and the excellent training of young translators.
The EMT network program for the next five years (2024–2029) has accredited master's degree programs in translation studies from 23 countries. Participation in the EMT network is a mark of quality, and this quality label is only awarded to educational programs that have been developed and are implemented in accordance with European Commission standards and market requirements. The aim of the EMT network programs is to meet the European Union's higher education priorities – to improve the quality of translator training to promote the integration of young professionals into the labour market.
In the 2024/2025 academic year, the professional master's program "Translation of Applied Texts" will be implemented under the name "Translation and Terminology." The duration of the program will be one or two years, depending on the applicant's previous education. Applications for the program will be open from July 16.
