The main goal of the project is to raise awareness among the broader public, especially youth, about science and to introduce the public to the profession of a scientist. It also aims to show the impact of disciplines such as natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities on everyday human life, bringing researchers closer to Latvian society and increasing interest in scientific research.
The objective of the events is to promote recognition of the researcher profession and demonstrate its role in Latvian society. During European Researchers' Night, various interesting and interactive events will be held in Riga, Jelgava, Ventspils, Liepāja, Valmiera, Salaspils, Rēzekne, and Daugavpils, covering the entire territory of Latvia.
This year's slogan: “The Diversity of Science for the Future” – emphasizing that scientific research is aimed at a better future and showcasing the diversity of scientific fields, from social sciences, humanities, medicine, physics, chemistry, biology to social sciences.
The project
will support the visibility of the researcher community, including Horizon 2020 projects, particularly the recognition of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, and science in general.
