A Day in a Life of a Student from the Bachelor's Level Programme "Business Administration"

Jun 08, 2022

Walks by the sea, evenings in the lounge room and studying are important parts of Kristiāna's daily routine. Kristiana is in her first year of the Bachelor's level programme “Business Administration” and her daily life is really full and varied.

On Mondays, Kristiāna can attend the microeconomics lecture remotely from her home in Liepaja. In the evening, the journey to Ventspils begins, so that on Tuesday morning at 9:00 with a cup of coffee in hand, she could go to the English class, where students work in groups, develop various projects and learn the language skills that are so necessary for the business environment. This is followed by management theory, where Kristiāna and her fellow students learn the way how to manage their teams more successfully by applying different methods. And finally, the day ends with two macroeconomics lectures.

After the lectures, many people start with a meal before relaxing. Kristiāna says that in her free time, she and her course mates like to go ice-skating, attend basketball and hockey games, go to movie nights, play pool in the lounge, or just take a walk by the sea.

Dear colleagues and friends, Last Thursday marked a dark moment in the history of Europe and the world as we became witness of a brutal and unprovoked act of war by Russia against a sovereign nation in the centre of Europe - Ukraine. We are deeply saddened by this. We at Ventspils University of Applied Sciences stand with the people of Ukraine at this difficult time and join the international community in condemning on the strongest possible terms the act of illegal aggression. We are prepared to offer every possible support within our means to staff, researchers and students at your institution. We are open look into the possibility to host your staff shorter or longer for periods of time. Once again - we stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and our thoughts are with all those directly or indirectly impacted by this invasion. Yours sincerely, Dr. Karlis Kreslins Rector of the Ventspils University of Applied Sciences Foto: Shutterstock
