Scientists of VUAS participate at Researchers` Night 2022
Every September, Scientists' Night is celebrated across Europe to promote science and its achievements. On Friday, 30 September Ventspils hosted a variety of free, creative and attractive activities for the whole family in a number of public places, with the participation of researchers from the Ventspils University of Applied Sciences (VUAS).
At the Ventspils Science Centre VIZIUM, there was an opportunity to listen to popular science presentations about astronomy by researchers from the VUAS:
- Jesus Alberto Cazares Montes' message "Dead stars" (in English).
- "The colonisation of the Galaxy in the eyes of modern physicists" by Artis Aberfelds.
In between the messages and until the end, in case of clear skies, visitors will have the opportunity to view the lunar craters and planets with a telescope.
At the Ventspils Digital Centre, in the lecture How technology helps to identify risks in the forest in time?, VUAS lecturer and leading researcher Linda Gulbe spoke about the possibilities of drones for data collection, about phenomena and animals in the forest.
At the
Main Library, Linda Gulbe led an interactive lecture “Introduction to computer vision work”.
